Skincare Resolutions for the New Year - 2022
The New Year is a time for reflection, and it can be easy to forget all the things we need in our lives. One thing that should never change even through changing times? Your commitment towards healthy skin! So go ahead—set these resolutions now so you have no excuse when January 1st rolls around again next year.
Use sunscreen every single day! It’s amazing how many people don't do this but still think their face doesn’t need any. In 2022 and onward, this will be our number one rule. Protecting your skin from the sun is an essential part of staying healthy. Use something that has an SPF of 30+ and be sure to apply on your face, neck and any other area that’s not covered.
Always Remove your Makeup at Night
A good rule for everyone to follow at bedtime is this: If it's been more than 24 hours since my last wash/rinse with soap or water (or both), I'll remove any makeup residue before heading straight into blissful slumber. So no matter what type of product got applied during the day, use a good cleanser to wash it all off before going to bed. By doing this you’ll avoid clogged pores and early wrinkles, and your skin will thank you.

Regular Exfoliation for Better Moisturization
Dead skin cells are a major barrier to absorption and hydration. They trap moisture, leaving your products feeling tight on contact with the surface of our skin - not good! But there's an easy way around this problem: exfoliation. Exfoliating your skin with a good cleanser helps remove these dead layers so that you can achieve healthy looking radiant skin. Not only can you exfoliate with a cleanser, but a gentle face scrub also provides a great alternative. Be sure to check out our Grapefruit and Lime Facial Cleanser and our Ylang Ylang and Lime Face Scrub.

Tuesday in Love’s Makeup line is also noncomedogenic which means there's little chance for those pesky acne breakouts!
Moisturize in the Morning and at Night
Moisturized skin helps it stay healthy and youthful. Staying hydrated all day long will also help fight signs of aging. It's important to keep up with a daily routine that includes applying lotion every few hours as needed, especially during the winter months.

The benefits don't stop there though - not only does keeping yourself sufficiently hydrated make sure cells are able move around freely without getting stuck together by oiliness from Sebum Production, but also helps reduce premature wrinkles.
Regular Mask therapy
We’re not talking about the masks you use in public, but rather a skincare mask enriched with antioxidants and minerals. One of the most effective ways to keep your skin healthy is through masking. Masks can be used as often or infrequently as you like, so make it part of an easy-to-do weekly routine.

Your Makeup Brushes Need a Wash - Regularly!
Taking care of your makeup brushes is one way to keep them from becoming dull and brittle. They'll last for years if you take the time. Here's how:
Wash every week on Monday or Tuesday morning after using all products with water just enough so that they don't lose their shape. Apply a very mild detergent or soap (like baby shampoo) in the palm of your hand then swirl the brush head under warm running tap water. This will cleanse without removing too much natural oil/moisture off the bristles. Not only will this help keep your brushes in good condition, but it will also prevent you from getting skin infections from dirty bristles.
Don’t Ignore Skin Conditions
Hyperpigmentation and acne have been on the rise since COVID came on the scene. The use of masks has caused a spike in acne for millions of people worldwide. Be sure to use skin safe makeup and treat acne breakouts on a regular basis to prevent long term skin damage. Also, make sure you’re washing your face masks regularly if you use a fabric based mask.
If you have sensitive skin, our Tuesday in Love Care Acne Treatment is an excellent option to keep your skin free of breakouts. Always be sure to see a dermatologist or your healthcare provider before using any long term skincare product.
